This is Ultharkitty.
I intend this journal to be a public forum for my ramblings about things I've read or watched. I'll probably also use it as a costuming journal.
What to expect: reviews of books/TV shows/exhibitions/websites etc. about any aspect of art history, architectural history, costume history, archaeology, palaeoanthropology and anything else I find interesting at the time.
What not to expect: reviews of fiction, movies, music etc. Not likely to happen :)
And now, a little inspiration...
Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.
"Cassilda's Song" from The King in Yellow by Robert W. Chambers, 1895.
